Born in Revere, Ma on 6/4 then
moved to Winthrop, Ma.
A
fter graduating from Winthrop
High School Jeanne went on to attend Southern Massachusetts
University as a vocal major. Later transferred to Berklee College of Music
and applied for Berklee’s Studio Engineering Program. She took
a year off to complete the requirement courses for entry to the engineering
Program. Jeanne then returned to Berklee and graduated with a degree
in Studio Engineering.
A recipient of Sarah Vaughan Scholarship for 4 consecutive
years and the LL Hardin Scholarship Award she was chosen to perform in
commencement ceremony with Bonnie Raitt.
She then studied at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN in the Divinity
School graduate program, wrote songs and started the band “Brave Ulysses” with
Griff Peters. Later moved to Los Angeles with Peters and appeared on LA radio
KLOS. She has performed with such well-known national acts as Willie Porter,
Eric Burdon, Vonda Shepard, Mike Landau, Soul, and many others. Jeanne sang
on numerous projects with Pat Seymour, film scorer for Fox TV, including most
recent, title track for “End of Summer”, starring Jacquelin Bisset.
In 1993-97 she continued to sing on Indie films for Alex VanBubenheim of Boyd
Music International, and co-wrote songs for a Major Spanish film. The band “Brave
Ulysses featured on KLOS Local Licks and was reviewed by major trade magazine,
Music Connection.
Jeanne then was accepted into Fuller Seminary graduate program in Pasadena
where she worked as an assistant director on a program for visually handicapped
adults. After returning to New England to pursue solo projects she got married,
had 2 children, all while continuing to perform and write. That is when she
wrote, performed and produced her first CD, “Power of Falling”.
She continued to perform at various New England Clubs while writing and
illustrating three childrens books, one titled Mantras for
Mothers, Sound of the Wind and Tall trees.
Jeanne just resently published an
article in Berklee Today Summer Issue on the subject of artist on Indie vs.
Major
